With only 6 weeks left until the County welcomes 120 of the world male elite cyclists to Warwickshire I wanted to ensure you were aware of the race. Im sure you are already aware but if you are not Warwickshire will be hosting Stage 4 of the Tour of Britain this year. Stage Four will build on the success of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain’s visit to Warwickshire in 2018 by bringing the men’s race to the county for the first time in its modern guise on Wednesday 5 September.
This leg will be raced over 183 kilometres – the second longest of this year’s Tour – from Nuneaton to Royal Leamington Spa, using many of the same roads that the world’s top women covered when Britain’s leading women’s stage race came to the county on 13 June this year.
The north-south-north direction taken by the route will allow spectators to catch the world’s best riders on a number of occasions; most notably at the Eisberg Sprint at Kenilworth and a potential bunch sprint into Royal Leamington Spa.
As well as the challenging route, British fans can also look forward to once again welcoming a star-studded line-up of teams to race on home roads this September, including the likes of UCI World Tour squads BMC Racing, Britains National Team, Team Katusha Alpecin and Team Sky.
The OVO Energy Tour of Britain will be coming through your Parish, Town or Village on Wednesday 5th September. The majority of the route will be controlled by the National Police Escort team of 60 Motorcyclists, who will close the road ahead of the race peleton and then re open the road as the race passes through. So there will be disruption on the day and we would like you help in passing the message on to your residents.
The key message is that Warwickshire is open and by letting businesses, residents and school children know we can ensure as many people benefit from such a free world class international event.
You can be part of the crowds lining the route on the day to wave and cheer the cyclists through.
There is the opportunity to showcase your area and businesses to visitors. The race is shown LIVE on ITV4 and as such your village and area will be seen by millions of people across the world.
More information can be found on our Website and the Tour of Britain website.
Below are details of times. The Burton Dassett stage should be between 2 00 and 3.30 p.m.

CSW’s Broadband map has been updated. The latest version reflects the following changes:
- New data from Openreach. The new data reflects a complete overhaul of the records that are held by Openreach. Some premises that were previously unknown have now been marked up according to their current status, whilst others that actually have superfast speeds available but were not marked as such have also been updated. If you still have an amber triangle on your property, please get in touch with us, even if you have done so before
- Some of the providers (AltNets) have given permission for us to show their areas of coverage. These are denoted by a letter inside the pink circle. Where there is no letter we have not been given permission to identify the provider
- Contract 2 defined. Purple stars denote where we believe that Contract 2 coverage should reach. However, as the data for Contract 2 was only provided down to postcode level we have had to take a best estimate on this. Contract 2 completes at the end of 2018, and more information can be found on our rolling 12-month plan
- Contract 3 coverage is clearly defined. As we have property-level information for Contract 3, we have been able to mark the map more accurately right down to property level. See below for more information about Contract 3
